Experience history and culture in Turkey

Turkey is the home of some of the world's oldest cities, and signs of the distant past are everywhere. What’s more, the former Neolithic city of ‘Catalhoyuk’, in central Turkey, dates back to 6500 BC and is believed to be the worlds very first town.

Turkey has been described as the cradle of civilization, with exotic visitors and settlers ranging from Hittites, Lydians and Persians, to Romans and Byzantines. The country holds a treasure of ancient sites and museums full of marvellous and fascinating ancient relics.

Even it’s present Republic came forth out of the decline of an empire which was once considered to be one of the greatest empires the world has ever known, namely the Ottoman Empire.

Its eighty-five centuries of consecutive but widely different cultures have given Turkey an immeasurable amount of cultural wealth. It is impossible not to be captivated by the historical heritage because it is simply all around you.
